Welcome! If you are reading this, there is a chance that you have a passion for food, just like me. I am a self proclaimed foodie- giving food my undivided attention and treating it like it's part of my survival. I know, I know, it IS part of survival, but to me that takes on a whole other meaning. I don't just eat it- I cook it, photograph it, learn about it, talk about it, and now- write about it.
I am confident that my love for all things food is in my blood. As a first generation American with a Hungarian/Cuban background, I have always been accustomed to trying different cuisines. I grew up in a house where food was a main focus and dinner together was always a priority, whether it be home cooked or dining out. We often kid (although it's not much of a joke) that even our vacations revolve around our meals. During breakfast, our lunch plans are figured out and of course dinner is known hours, if not days in advance. This type of upbringing has taught me to appreciate a variety of food, which is why I enjoy exploring new restaurants as well as cooking a variety of ethnic cuisines. Now that my brother and I are grown, the family still meets at least once a week and of course, it is to eat.
While one purpose of this site is self fulfillment, I am doing this for you. Friends often come to me for advice on which restaurants to go to and ideas for meals to make at home, so I decided to take it a step further and make my suggestions public. My husband is my biggest cheerleader (probably because he gets to eat everything I cook) and his encouragement keeps me driven.
I love my role as the "Flavor Appraiser," sharing reviews of restaurants near and far, divulging my favorite recipes from health conscious to guilty pleasures, and posting anything else that I find to be too delicious to keep to myself.
