If you’re in need of a delicious dessert that doesn’t take up much of your time or require baking, I’ve got the one for you!  This recipe is pretty well circulated around the web, so you may have seen it before, but if not… you’re in for a treat, literally!   The best way to describe these Oreo Crispy Treats are Rice Krispie Treats where crushed up Oreos are used in place of the cereal.  They are amazingly good and actually fat free…. as long as you don’t eat them 😉   While they are far from healthy, they are worth every calorie!  All you need is 3 ingredients and about 15 minutes to these get treats done!

  • 1 package of Oreos
  • 3 Tbs of Butter
  • 1 package of marshmallows (any size marshmallows will do)

  1. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add marshmallows to butter, stir occasionally.
  3. Crush oreos in a freezer bag (using your hand, a frying pan, or rolling pin). Some pieces should be left into small chunks, like the size of your fingernail).   You can put the cookies in a bowl and crush them with a potato masher
  4. Once marshmallows have melted completely, add the crushed oreos and mix together well.
  5. Pour mixture evenly into a lightly greased baking pan (9 x 13, 8 x 8- whatever size you prefer)
  6. Let the mixture sit for at least 10 minutes to set (I put it in the freezer).

I refrigerate them because I like them cold, although the first couple get enjoyed room temp because who can wait to try them!
